DRCLAS is pleased to offer a summer study-abroad opportunity at El Colegio de México, a prestigious center of scholarship located in Mexico City. Participants have the opportunity to receive academic credit for coursework on contemporary Mexico and to pursue independent research under the supervision of faculty members at COLMEX. Current Harvard College and Harvard graduate students in good standing with the requisite Spanish language capabilities are eligible to participate. The program includes a five-week intensive Summer study schedule. Students select 4 classes to take. The 2019 course offerings can be found here for reference. 2020 courses are forthcoming.
Students who wish to apply for transfer credit for their coursework at the Colegio are required to submit an application to the Office of International Education. Check the OIE website for these important dates and applications.
Costs depend on the length of the program and are as follows:
5 week program
Program fee (including housing) - $2200
Other estimated expenses (including air fare) - $1250
Participants eligible for need-based funding from DRCLAS will be automatically considered by applying for the program through CARAT. At this time, we are unable to provide funding for students without a demonstrated financial need.
